Alan H. Poff

Commander 2010

Past Commander Poff received a B.A. in English and Psychology from the University of Miami and J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. He served briefly in the U.S. Navy after college as a Naval Aviator, then as a Special Agent/Criminal Investigator with the U.S.D.A. and the U.S. Department of Transportation. He became a Mason in 1971, receiving his craft degrees at Royal Palm Lodge No. 100, F. & A.M. in Homestead, Florida. In 2004, he joined James Ladd Burgess Lodge No. 1305 in Dallas, Texas, serving as Master during the 2008-2009 Masonic Year. Brother Poff is a member of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dallas; R. C. Buckner Chapter No. 108, Royal Arch Masons of Texas; and R. C. Buckner Council No. 67, Royal & Select Masters of Texas. He joined Dallas Commandery No. 6 in July 2005, receiving his knighthood at DeMolay Commandery No. 20 in Greenville, Texas. In 2008, he was elected to membership in the Lyle L. Cross York Rite College No. 147 in Dallas, Texas. Commander Poff is currently enjoying retirement in Garland, Texas.
