the commandery in each district that demonstrates the most impressive and positive performance
in conferring the Order of Temple at the annual inspection.

The Cross and Crown Award is presented by the Grand Commandery of Texas to
constituent commanderies who are outstanding in their communities. The award is based upon
exemplary participation in fifty different requirements, which are divided into four
categories of personal, external, civic and community, and public relations
involvement. Recipients of this award have demonstrated themselves to be pacesetters,
leading Commanderies in the state who are setting examples for others to follow.

The Patriotic and Civic Award is given to the commandery in each district that receives the highest grade in fulfillment of the requirements of the Grand Commandery of Texas for patriotic and civic services.
